Good references mean a lot
I'm SO fond of that picture. I get to look at it every day for the rest of my life (because no one gets to buy it) and it's definitely going to make me happy every single time. It must be pretty amazing to be able to influence another person's life like that.
When I look at Charlotte's Barrel's images, I see the passion of an artist who lets his ideas and his curiosity come to life. Whether the motifs are dominated by warm or cooler colors or whether the shape in the images is round or angular, there is always this special sharpness in the images, which makes me want to look at the canvas once more and explore the original impression.
I'm the lucky owner of two of Charlotte's pictures. They are completely different, but very intense in their own way. One image is in warm golden and turquoise colors. It hangs in my hallway, and although it is 5 meters from floor to ceiling, the image somehow fills up much more than its circumference and lights it all up on a dark winter's day. The second image is in dark earth colors. It's more bleak and dramatic. The image creates a lovely contrast in my bright living room, and always makes me think of the fury of the elements.
We are so fond of your paintings – they fit the room very well.
