Description

Bronze Figure: Honey

The bronze figure “Honey” with her pink sneakers from vintage Bratz dolls. I spend many hours searching for shoes for my sculptures on vintage websites from all over the world and have them shipped to my gallery after carefully selecting the ones I think perfectly match the look I’m going for. The bronze sculpture “Honey” has a whimsical look with humor, a twist, and an edge.

See more of my sculptures at the online store. The sculptures come in artichoke, avocado, passion fruit, cauliflower, tomato, and many more varieties.

Bronze has a beautiful luster and is one of the finest materials used in sculpture casting. The sculpture is well-suited for both indoor and outdoor use. When placed outdoors, the bronze will change over time and develop the coveted greenish patina familiar from, for example, old copper roofs.

THE BRONZE CASTING PROCESS:

Casting bronze is a labor-intensive process, but I love it.

Sand casting is a traditional method in which bronze is shaped by pouring the molten metal into a mold made of tightly compacted sand. Each mold can only be used once, and therefore each piece is completely unique—marked by small traces, texture, and a vibrant surface that only sand casting can produce.

Development

I plan to continually develop new series of sculptures featuring various vegetables and fruits, but also, over time, seek more inspiration from nature. I’m also very interested in applying patina to the various sculptures, and I plan to incorporate more colors into my work. I’m particularly fascinated by accelerated patination—the process of speeding up the patination chemically rather than waiting for nature to take its course.

The bronze sculpture is the perfect gift for everyone

The year brings many holidays, celebrations, and memorable days, and every celebration calls for a unique gift—but a gift is not just a gift. A bronze sculpture is something special—something you can enjoy every day.

Sculptures bring joy. Perhaps each sculpture has a quality that says something about the person who will receive it, and in that way, it takes on a special and personal meaning for the recipient.
