Bronze dress

The bronze sculpture “Bronze Dress” is a unique bronze sculpture. This sculpture is a tribute to the feminine form and elegance. A dress and a body in one, cast in bronze and mounted on a distinctive metal pedestal. The surface is characterized by the work of the hand – soft and raw and sensuous, with fine contrasts between the light highlights and the dark patination.

The sculpture is sand-cast in one piece – a true one-off. It stands strong and elegant as a stylish art object in the home or in an art collection.

About sand casting

Sand casting is a traditional method of bronze casting where the mold is made in compressed sand. It is a demanding but beautiful process where each impression can only be used once – therefore each sculpture is a unique piece.

The bronze is poured into the sand mold I have created from my original model work. Once the metal has cooled, the mold is broken and the sculpture is released. I then work the surface by hand to preserve the raw and organic look.

Sand casting gives a special surface play and depth that I love – it feels like the material itself is co-creating.

Development

I will continuously develop new series of sculptures in all imaginable areas and techniques. I never get tired of playing. I am also very interested in patinating the different sculptures and more colors will be included in my sculptures.
