The Light – painting by Charlotte Tønder

The Light is an atmospheric abstract painting where light plays a central role in the composition.
The work measures 80 × 80 cm and is available for 8000 DKK.

A luminous field opens up in the center of the image and contrasts with the more dark, earthy and cool tones around it. Layers upon layers of transparent surfaces, traces and organic structures create depth and movement, giving the painting a sensuous and calm presence.
The work balances between landscape and interior space, leaving room for immersion and personal interpretation.

By appointment, the painting can be borrowed home on trial – a good way to experience how the work fits into your own surroundings.
I currently work from my studio in Gentofte, where private viewings are available by appointment. Here the works can be experienced in peace and presence.

👩‍🎨 About me as an artist

The constant in my life is art. For more than 25 years, art has been my focal point and driving force. I am inspired by everything I encounter and experience, which is why my works are often different in both expression and mood.

My mindset plays a crucial role in the creative process and I see it as a strength to be able to move freely between the abstract and the more figurative. Colors are always central and I use the whole palette without limitations.

My images only take shape when I sit in front of the canvas. I often start with a basic idea or motif that gradually dissolves and blurs. The randomness that arises in this process is explored further until the subject finds its own direction.
